Childcare Support

Overview

A double-income family with a child aged 12 or under can apply for a childcare worker to come to their home to take care of the child.

Application Location : The eup/myeon office or community center (dong office) with jurisdiction over the registered residence of the child.

Childcare Support Program

  • Eligibility Criteria
    • Child’s age: 12 or under
    • There is no one to take care of the child, as both parents are employed, etc.
    • Must meet the household income criteria (determined based on the national health insurance premium)
  • Types of Childcare Services
    • Part-time Childcare Service
      • This is a government-funded childcare service where a childcare worker is sent to the home of a family with a child who is of 3 months to 12 years of age to care for the child on a one-on-one basis for a designated amount of time. The parents can use the service at night, on weekends or holidays for the amount of time they need.

        However, if the parents wish to use the service beyond the time limit set by the government, they must bear the full cost.

    • Full-time Childcare Service
      • This is a government-funded childcare service where a childcare worker is sent to the home of a family with a child who is of 3 to 36 months of age to care for the child on a one-on-one basis every day. All-round services in the aspects of health, nutrition, hygiene and education are provided including feeding the child baby food, sterilizing baby bottles, changing diapers, and bathing the child.
